A 33-year-old man who stole deodorant from Tesco, Blackburn, was not looking for the "Lynx Effect."
Blackburn magistrates heard that Mark Andrew Cooke planed to sell the canisters to raise money to buy food and not drugs.
Cooke, of Hollin Bridge Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to stealing three cans of Lynx deodorant.
He was given a conditional discharge for six months.
