BURNLEY has been criticised in a recent poll of the worst places to live in the United Kingdom.
A survey by Channel 4 show Location Location Location has named Burnley the 19th worst place to live based on crime rates, binge drinking, drug problems and education.
The average house price is Burnley is just above £141,000, which is an increase of 23 per cent on 2006.
While the rate of robbery offences in the town is lower than the national average, the crime rate is higher then the average rate across the country.
But the town has come out better than other places in the region, with Blackpool rated the 11th worst place to live and Manchester the 17th.
