DETECTIVES want information after two attempted burglaries in Darwen.
The first was at 2.30am last Tuesday when someone tried to break into a house in Turncroft Road but fled after setting off the alarm.
The second happened between 10 and 10.30pm on Thursday when the home of an 85-year-old woman was targeted in Priory Drive.
This time, the intruder was disturbed by a neighbour and made off without any property.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.
DS Richard Bailie said: "I appeal to anyone with information about who is responsible for these burglaries to contact police soon as soon as possible."
He added: "I would like to reassure people that incidents of this nature are extremely rare in Darwen, although in light of these two recent attempts, I urge residents to be extra vigilant and report anything suspicious to the police."
Anyone with information can contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
