TWO students are on the catwalk to success after walking away winners of the Lancashire Telegraph's model competition.
Mohammed Ali Afzal and Siobhan Masih, both 17, beat scores of hopefuls from across East Lancashire to be crowned the male and female winners in our Have you got the Look? contest.
The pair were among 20 finalists chosen by Lancashire Telegraph readers and a judging panel from nearly 200 entrants featured in the paper.
The pair each won two-year modelling representation fro-m EKA Model Management, £100 from Perfect Image, an outfit worth £100 courtesy of The Mall and Debenhams, Blackburn, as well as a portfolio of photographs.
And the couple are taking inspiration from last year's winners, Ikrash Darr, 22, and Sarah-Jayne Lincoln, 20, who went on to appear on TV shows and attend modelling auditions across the country.
Mohammed, known as Ali, of Cramwell Close, Audley, Blackburn, is studying a national diploma in media at the town's college as well as being an aspiring actor.
Ali, whose agent is Suzanne Hall, who plays Suzanne Ash-worth in TV soap Hollyoaks said: "I only entered the competition as a laugh but winning this really was a shock.
"I really want to carry on with acting but hopefully now I can also do some modelling.
"With last year's winners modelling it really does give me the motivation and confidence to go on and do well."
Siobhan, of Reedyford Road, Nelson, a BTEC music students at Nelson and Colne College said she was giving the money to her parents after her dad, Younis, 43, recently suffered a stroke.
She added: "My mum saw the competition in the paper and said why don't you enter?
"I am chuffed but cannot believe I won as the girls were really bonny.
"My mum and dad have been struggling financially recently after my dad suffered a stroke so I am going to give the money to them."
On Saturday the 20 finalists took part in a catwalk show in The Mall.
The winners were chosen by Lancashire Telegraph featu-res writer Caroline Dutton, Holly, a model from EKA and Chris Trickett, managing director of House of Trix.
Sharon Crymble, Lancashire Telegraph promotions manager said: "It was a really enjoyable day and it was a shame all 20 finalists could not be winners."
