The latest team on the Princes Trust course recently finished their 2 week community project on the allotment site on Avon Drive, Barnoldswick.
The team worked long hours for the 2 week project which included: Making new flower beds, making and fitting a new roof on the outdoor toilet and moving tonnes of soil by wheelbarrow!
The team had no funding for the equipment they needed so they organised a Car Wash between themselves to raise the money they would need.
On Friday 12th October the team handed the project over to the residents who work on the allotments, and the Mayor of Pendle, Allan Buck officially re-opened the site.
Myself and PC Brendan Wood visited the team throughout the 2 weeks and would like to commend them for the hard work they put in. We would also like to thank Jim Hollingworth and his team for choosing the Avon Drive project for this set of recruits. It has made a real difference to the local community.
The group have a further 7 weeks of the 12 week course to complete which will include 2 weeks work experience.
