A DRUNKEN man who tried to mug a teenager in a Colne street, has been sent to detention for 20 months at Burnley Crown Court.
James O'Conner, 18, had headbutted the victim and demanded his phone and wallet. The terrified teenager had tried to hand over his wallet, but it was attached to his belt.
He was attacked further and fell into the doorway of William Hill bookmakers.
Staff went to his aid, a passing police car was flagged down and the victim and his friend were taken around the area to see if they could spot the defendant. Both identified O'Conner to the officers.
The defendant, of Keighley Avenue, Colne, admitted attempted robbery.
