A MAN who was helping his sister fit a new kitchen helped himself to tools and materials from B&Q.
Luke Kellet, 21, of Scarborough Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty at the town's magistrates to stealing DIY articles worth £192.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Duncan Nightingale, defending, said Kellett, who had no previous convictions, was doing a job for his sister and she couldn't afford the materials.
"He was trying to help his sister but knows what he did was wrong," said Mr Nightingale.
