A man walking across the dance floor in a heavy metal bar was punched in the face for no apparent reason, a court heard.
Blackburn magistrates were told that Ryan McInerney was blinded by his own blood flowing from a burst nose and a burst lip.
And he had no idea what had happened to him or why until witnesses explained what had gone on.
David Robinson, 19, of Brothers Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assault.
He was given a conditional discharged for a year and ordered to pay £150 compensation and £65 costs.
John Wood, prosecuting, said the assault was unprovoked.
