A man refused to give a breath sample after police stopped his father's car outside a Darwen home.
Defence solicitor Adam Whittaker said his client still maintained he was not the driver and had been picked out by the police when he admitted the car belonged to his father.
Christopher Wheelton, 28, of Wellington Road, Turton, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was fined £200 and ordered to serve one day in lieu of immediate payment after the magistrates heard he was already serving a custodial sentence.
