DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to help piece together the last moments of a man found dead at his home.
The body of Geoffrey Rushton, 60, was discovered shortly before 11am on Tuesday.
Neighbours in Branch Road, Burnley, alerted police after becoming concerned when they had not seen him for a few days.
His death is being treated as 'unexplained' but police said they do not believe it is suspicious.
Police are appealing for people who may have seen him in the days before his death.
Detective Inspector Sam Birtwell said: "A 60-year-old male was found to be dead in his home in Branch Road at around 11am on Tuesday.
"Officers were called to the scene after a neighbour contacted us saying he was concerned for his welfare.
"An investigation is underway, the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
"Officers from CID have attended at the property and carried out initial inquires and investigations.
"Mr Rushton was last seen by neighbours at about 5pm on Saturday tea time.
"We are keen to hear from members of the public who might have seen him since he was last sighted at 5pm."
Mr Rushton is believed to have lived alone.
A post mortem examination is due to take place within the next few days.
