Linda Lynn, founder of WhichCraft? and local resident, has set up a new group for community organisations to share and exhange equipment and knowledge. For Free!
BASIL (named after Linda's Corgi dog!) stands for Borrow and Share: Inter-Community Lending Service. This is a voluntary service and it welcomes use by all groups, clubs and organisations in the East Rural ward.
It is hoped that the service will be able to form a comprehensive library of equipment and skills which registered members can access.
The idea is that by registering and using the service, oragnisations will be able to get the most out of their groups by accessing fresh skills and resources.
Tables, camcorders, laminators (the list goes on) are all available to use free of charge*.
By registering as many groups as possible, it is hoped that BASIL will be able to provide a huge array of skills and resources.
Do you have a left-hand knitter? Have you always fancied parchment craft but the tools outwit you? Perhaps your group would benefit from the skills of someone who can do sign language?
What equipment would your group benefit from? What equipment do you have to offer? Do you have any members with special skills?
For more information and to register today call Linda on 01254 760097 or Janet Watson on 01204 597927 *Although you can borrow items free of charge, whatever other resources you use, will have to be paid for. For example, you will have to pay for the laminating pouches, or the camcorder tapes.
