Hurstwood Lane in Worsthorne
A CAR was deliberately set on fire on a road last night.
Firefighters were called to Hurstwood Lane in Worsthorne at around 8pm.
A fire service spokesman said the Citroen C2 was destroyed.
He said: "We were there for around an hour to put the fire out and investigate the cause of the fire.
"We believe the car was abandoned there and set alight deliberately.
"The police were informed and the car was removed from the road.
"Fortunately because it was on a rural road the fire did not spread to any other cars or houses."
