THESE pictures from our archive show when Waves Blackburn was THE place to be.
Bulldozers moved in on the iconic building in February 2016.
Waves pool, in Blackburn town centre, had closed the year before after 29 years in operation.
The pool was state-of-the-art when it opened in 1986 with its twisting slides and wave machine.
The site has since been transformed into a Reel Cinema.
The pictures we unearthed in our archive show people queuing around the block to get into the popular swimming destination.
Colour photos from 2001 recall the time the pool opened in the evening for an inflatables fun night.
