ROADS near Darwen have reopened after a crane caught fire.
Emergency services were called to a fire involving a Frank Barnes crane on the A666 Blackburn Road, Darwen near the M65 motorway junction.
The road was blocked for around 30 minutes while the crane was recovered.
Fire watch manager Don Brady said the blaze broke out at the back of the vehicle after an 'accidental' fuel line leak onto the hot engines. This then ignited.
The driver, a man believed to be in his early 40s, did not sustain any injuries.
