PASSENGERS hit by weekend strikes on Northern's rail routes are being offered a cut-price top up tickets to travel by bus instead.
The Blackburn and Burnley Bus Companies along with Rosso , all part of Transdev, are allow people with a valid train ticket for the next two Saturdays, both earmarked for strike action, the chance to make any journey on their routes for £2.
Members of the RMT union working for Northern have been striking on selected dates in their long-running dispute over train guards
The deal will be on offer this Saturday and the following Saturday on any of the three companies’ bus routes within Lancashire on the full route of Rosso’s 464, 481, 482 and 483 services into Greater Manchester.
Transdev chief executive Alex Hornby said: “We know many rail customers are frustrated by the continued disruption to their train journeys, and so we’re ready to come to the rescue with this low-cost alternative for the next two Saturdays."
