An 18-year-old has been charged following a town centre attack which left a man with serious head injuries.
Detectives investigating the incident, which happened in Burnley, have tonight, charged a man with assault and possession of a weapon.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Drew Wilkinson, 18, of Straight Mile Court, Burnley, has tonight (October 28) been charged with section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon."
Officers were called at 7.06am on Saturday October 27 to reports of an assault on Hargreaves Street in Burnley Town Centre.
The spokesperson said: "Officers and paramedics attended and a 32-year-old man was found on the floor with head injuries.
"He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition."
Wilkinson has been remanded in custody and will appear before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning (October 29).
Two other men, aged 25 and 19, who were arrested on suspicion of assault have been released without charge.
