A SCHOOL has launched a project to encourage social and problem solving skills in young people through
St Augustine’s RC Primary School in Burnley are spearheading the Tiny Steps for Peace project, run by the Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry Peace Foundation. It’s a new project aimed at younger pupils and is based around inter-active storytelling and an activity mat.
It hopes to enhance the emotional, social and relational skills of young people, develop group problem-solving skills and embed basic conflict resolution skills.
Head teacher Sinead Colbeck, said: "We already take part in the Small Steps for Peace and this is a new initiative for the younger age group.
"It encourages primary school pupils to have positive relationships with each other and peers. Our pupils have embraced it."
