AN investigation has been launched after a man was seen carrying a machete and making threats in a town centre.
Police said a man was seen carrying the weapon in Burnley at around 11.15am today.
A police spokesman said officers were called after a man had allegedly threatened people in Market Promenade.
The spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene and attempted to locate the man.
"No-one was injured during the incident.
"A suspect has been identified and enquiries are on-going to locate him.
"We would like to reassure people this is an isolated incident and patrols have been increased in the area."
