A BUSINESS has temporarily ceased trading following the partial collapse of its building.
Northwest Plumbing and Electrical, in Burnley, will not be able to trade for the foreseeable future after the top floor of the building collapsed last Sunday.
The decision, announced earlier today, has been made by bosses at Burnley Council, who hold the responsibility of ensuring the building is made safe in the long term.
Council bosses have said the building is in a defective state and that the decision has been made to protect customers and employees from harm.
Cllr Mark Townsend, leader of Burnley Council, says no fixed date has been set for when the business can trade again.
He said: "The business will cease trading until everybody has been assured the building is safe for employees, customers and the general public in the area.
"There is no fixed date for completion. It will take as long as it needs to make the building safe again."
The junctions for Liverpool Road, Rossendale Road and Accrington Road reopened earlier this week.
