TWO design students have been awarded an international award for their work on a company logo.
Ashley Fenlon, 31, and Adam Dique, 25, both students from the University Centre of Blackburn College, won the YCN award for their work with brand AXA insurance.
YCN are a design, advertising and branding community who work with the likes of Adidas and Red Bull. The Outstanding Work award in the AXA Insurance category was awarded to them at the Barbican Centre in London.
As mature students, they both returned to education to complete the project, with Mr Dique also becoming a father.
Mr Fenton said: "All thanks go to my tutors whose constant pushing and critique (some good and some bad) got me to the final product and in the end got me a commendation and have made me a much better designer than I could have ever hoped to be 2 years ago."
Jenna Gardner, Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Graphic Communication programme at the University Centre at Blackburn College said: "Ashley and Adam’s design concept and solutions throughout the project worked effectively across a variety of channels and platforms, and they achieved their brief of encouraging young professionals to take out travel insurance with AXA."
