A TEENAGE girl was due in court today after she was charged in connection with an alleged racist attack on a family at a fun fair in Burnley.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons but who is from the Burnley area, was charged last night by officers from Pennine Police's Hate Crime Unit after answering bail.
She faces seven allegations of racially aggravated assault and one of racially aggravated public order.
Police launched an investigation after an Asian family claimed they were set upon at the Fulledge Recreation Ground fair in July.
Det Con Kim Bradshaw, of the Hate Crime Unit, said the girl would appear before Burnley magistrates today.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
