ON Saturday, October 6, football reaches a new low.
Only ONE of the 10 Premiership games will kick off at the traditional time of 3pm.
The rest will be scattered throughout the weekend to accommodate the Sky and Setanta fat cats, and the UEFA Cup.
A record EIGHT games will be played on Sunday.
Only West Ham's trip to Aston Villa will be played at the time most fans expect to watch football.
Manchester United's game against Wigan is the only other match on Saturday, kicking off at 12.45pm for television.
Three other matches are being televised on the Sunday, four more games have been switched because teams involved are playing in the UEFA Cup on the previous Thursday and Manchester City v Middlesbrough has been moved for policing reasons.
What happened to the fans' game?
Most of us grew up standing on the terraces on a Saturday afternoon.
But football has sold its soul to the devil.
TV chiefs virtually own and control our game.
Something has to be done before football implodes.
