RAISED in Sri Lanka and with a dad who's a guerrilla fighter, it would be easy to dismiss M.I.A on the grounds that her back-story is more interesting than her music.
That would be harsh, and thanks to Kala being so strong, confident and challenging, it's a criticism that's unjust too.
