A 26-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was killed when he lost control on a right hand bend on Friday evening.

The Chorley man was travelling down Euxton Lane in the town just before 6pm when he came off the Honda bike.

Passersby and medical staff tried to save him but were unsuccessful.

Insp Simon Hayes said: "A Honda motorbike was travelling along Euxton Lane in the direction of Euxton when it appeared to lose control at a right hand bend and the rider.

"A 26-year-old male from the Chorley area, was thrown from the machine. Despite efforts from passersby and ambulance staff he was pronounced dead on arrival at Chorley Hospital."

Police are appealing for the woman driver of a white hatchback to come forward. It is thought the motorbike overtook her shortly before the crash.
