A GENEROUS shopwork-er scooped £350 on a radio contest and immediately donated half her winnings to a local hospice.

Gemma Dixon, of Accrington, won the cash on 2BR's Bleep Game and handed over £175 to the Pendleside Hospice in Reedley.

She said: "I have been brought up to share what I have with others and the hospice is a very worthy cause. They need the money more than I do."

Hospice fundraising manager Kaye Bartle said: "It was really generous of Gemma to donate some of her winnings to the hospice. The money will help us to provide care to local people suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses."
