PEOPLE from ethnic minorities were advised to exercise and eat well to prevent heart disease.
East Lancashire Health Authority member Jan Qureshi said there was widespread concern at the low rates of heart surgery being carried out on Asian people in East Lancashire.
Mr Qureshi said the Asian community needed to be educated about diet and exercise.

A PETROL station on a busy road came within minutes of exploding when a cylinder caught fire.
A cylinder of oxyacelytene had been burning for two or three minutes before fire crews arrived at Longmill, Bolton Road, Blackburn.
Station officer Ernie Calvert said the cylinder could have exploded sky high within two minutes.

A 12-YEAR-old boy took to the stage to impress with his impersonations and tap dancing skills in a talent contest.
David Walsh, from Shadsworth, had won a chance to appear at Manchester's Hippodrome in the final of Strike It Lucky.
David, who had been entertaining since he was three, had support from hundreds of pensioners from Blackburn as he impersonated Al Jolson.
