EDUCATION bosses in Lancashire were rushing through a package of bids for millions in Government grants to help repair crumbling schools.
Labour had announced a £1.08 billion package and a report had revealed that schools in Lancashire needed £75 million for repair work.

Stanley was cine-cameraman, "doctor" and cook on the six-strong Oxford and Cambridge South American expedition.
