ECCLESHILL Parish Council raised £425 through a community fun day at Eccleshill Gardens.
A dog show, car boot sale and burger van helped raise cash towards a £90,000 effort to regenerate the play area.
Parish secretary Linda Mason has already started organising next year's event on August 23.
She said: "The dog show was a huge success. We are considering holding a separate dog show, maybe a day after next year's fun day.
"The fun day went really well and I am surprised at how much we raised."
