ORGANISERS of the Courtyard Campaign 2 musical festival hope the success of this weekend's event can help put Blackburn on the musical map.

Hosted across three stages at the Cellar Bar, King Street, Blackburn, it featured up and coming artists such as The Touch, Morning Call, The Money-shot and Scar.

Bez from the Happy Mondays had been due to round off the festival with a DJ set last night but he failed to turn up.

Sam Flanagan, from festival organisers Independent, said: "It's been brilliant, the bands have been great and it's been very busy.

"This is not just about the Cellar Bar but the town as a whole.

"It's about giving both local and national bands a good stage to play on and I think we've done that."
