ORGANISERS of Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve celebrated the twentieth anniversary of saving the reserve from demolition.
The evening event took place at Lock Street Institute and was a night of renewing old friendships made through working at the Oswaldtwistle site.
Anthony Flanagan, chair of Foxhill Bank Management Group, said: "I'm passionate about Foxhill Bank and its importance for nature.
"Many people have worked hard over these 20 years to make it such a special place. People can make a difference and working with partners like the Council and the Wildlife Trust, you really can achieve great things."
The mayor, coun Tony Dobson, who opened the evening celebrations, added: "It was a superb event, and a great opportunity to see the sterling work of the group over the years.
"The reserve has come on leaps and bounds and has habitat that's so valuable it's ranked in the the top 10 per cent of ponds in the whole country."
