DRIVERS are being warned to remove satellite navigation systems from their cars after a spate of thefts across Blackburn.
Officers said overall there had been a reduction in car crime but there was still a problem with the theft of sat navs'.
In the latest incidents cars were broken into on Peel Industrial Estate, Lower Audley and Nuttal Street, Blackburn.
Sat navs worth hundreds of pounds were stolen in both break-ins, on Tuesday afternoon.
Inspector Bilal Mulla said: "I urge people, when they leave their car to make sure that there is nothing valuable left inside.
"Most criminals are opportunists - they take what they can see.
"I urge people to double check when they leave their cars to see if there is anything on display and if there is they should remove it from the car.
"Sat navs should be removed including the cradle from the dashboard and the sucker marks should be wiped away. A cradle or sucker mark on the dash board make thieves thinks there is a sat nav hidden."
