Last Wednesday Bill and I were off to see his son David who unfortunately has suffered a heart attack and ended up in Salford Royal Hospital.
I must say how impressed I was, he was in a single room with all mod cons.
Staff were most accommodating, they even brought a tray of tea and cakes with out being asked.
David said the care and attention he was receiving was magnificent.
A week later he had another op to put in a stent and he was hoping they wouldn’t throw him out too soon, has he was quite enjoying being pampered and looked after.
But he was home the next day so his dream was not to be.
We are so lucky to have such a great health service. I can recall when I was about 11 my dad having to pay for my eye straightening operation – it was about the same has his full week's wage.
I’m going to have my hair done. I have decided that I shall be adventurous and change my style.
The one that I have at the moment I've had for years so there is going to be a new me.
I am just a little tired of the me I am, so hairdresser Nigel stand by your bed. I want to look and feel different and ready for my big trip.
I have also been sorting out the clothes that I keep holding on to “just in case” and I fear that a lot of those must go.
I really must face up to the fact that I am never going to wear those miniskirts ever again, but the thought of the fun that I had wearing them will, I think, last a little bit longer.
I can even hear my dad saying “you are not going out in that Lady”.
So I had to go upstairs change into something my dad would accept but at the same time hide the Mini in my handbag.
So you see I was quite a naughty girl. But I certainly could not go up Tony’s Ballroom if I was not dressed like all the other girls.
It was bad enough having to leave sooner than everybody else in order to catch the last bus home, that was if I didn’t have a gentleman friend to escort me, me.
