CORONATION Street star Sam Aston was on hand to open new town centre store today.
Poundland confirmed yesterday that a mystery celebrity would open its new store in Broadway, Accrington.
And delighted customers discovered it was Sam, who plays much-loved Chesney Brown on the ITV soap.
Sam, from Bacup, cut the ribbon as the store officially opened at 10am.
Customers could be seen queuing to get into the packed store with Sam posing for selfies and signing autographs.
As part of the opening, its first 500 customers each received golden tickets containing prizes.
The new store has opened at the site of the old The Original Factory Shop (TOFS) site, which closed in March after being open for less than a year.
Before that the site was home to Marks and Spencer, which closed in March 2016 after 54 years of trading in the town.
The new Poundland store will also feature a clothing section from the Pep & Co brand.
