A CARE home has been rated 'good' more than a year after it received a 'requires improvement' rating.
Hazeldene Care Home, in Clayton-le-Dale, was rated good for its safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness and leadership.
It follows an unannounced Care Quality Commission inspection of the Ribchester Road home on May 1 and May 2 this year.
It comes after the home was told to improve following an inspection in February last year.
Watchdogs found the home was 'not consistently safe or responsive.'
But the home has now been praised by inspectors in a recent report.
Inspectors said the home was safe and responsive.
The report reads: "The service was caring.
"People liked the staff who supported them and told us staff were caring.
"We observed staff treating people with kindness and patience.
"People told us staff respected their right to privacy and dignity and we saw examples of this during out inspection.
"People told us they were encouraged to be independent.
"Staff told us they encouraged people to do what they could for themselves when it was safe for them to do so."
The home provides accommodation and personal care and 45 people were living there at the time of the inspection.
