THE leader of Ribble Valley Borough Council Ken Hind has been appointed to new county-wide new roles.
He has been appointed vice-chairman of the Lancashire District Council Leaders’ Group and joined the board of the Lancashire Economic Partnership.
The Lancashire Economic Partnership comprises leaders from business, universities and local councils, who work together to drive economic growth and job creation in the county.
Cllr Hind, who represents Dilworth in Longridge, said: “In order to preserve local services, it is crucial that we drive the economy to increase business rates, create jobs and become a sustainable borough.
“Over 20,000 people work in Ribble Valley, many of them in hospitality, tourism and manufacturing, and we want to attract more new businesses to the borough.”
