BLACKBURN Rovers star Bradley Dack has been immortalised – with a burger named in his honour.

After being promoted back to the Championship, the club has had a variety of tasty meals named for them at Cafe Northcote in the Cathedral Quarter.

The Ultimate Dack Burger is named after the midfield talisman, who was named League One Player of the Year.

It is made up of hand-pressed Bowland beef, layered with Lancashire cheese and pancetta, topped off with crispy onions and mustard mayonnaise, served on a brioche bun, with skin-on fires and coleslaw.

The burger will be available on Monday as fans descend on One Cathedral Square to celebrate with the squad and manager Tony Mowbray who are making a special appearance from 4.30pm.

Café Northcote manager Lucy Bishop said that staff are looking forward to seeing Cathedral Square turn blue and white.

She said: “We’re all really excited to welcome Blackburn Rovers and all the fans as they’ll be right outside the café so we’ll have a great view of the promotion celebrations.

“I hope that Bradley approves of the burger we’ve invented in his name.

“He probably wouldn’t be allowed to have one during training but he’s welcome to come and enjoy an end-of-season treat.”

Other celebration dishes available includes manager’s special traditional meat and potato pie with real chips and mushy peas, and Rover the hot dog.

And blue and white gingerbread men and treats will also be baked especially for ‘Blues Day'.

Rovers have an outside chance of winning the title tomorrow when they play Oxford United at Ewood.

They sit in second place, two points behind league leaders Wigan, who would need to lose their match against Doncaster Rovers away. Dack is Rovers top goal scorer, with 18, closely followed by Danny Graham on 17, and Charlie Mulgrew on 14.

The burger costs £10.95 and will be available to eat in or take away on Monday.

The café, which opened in June 2016, will be open especially from 2pm to 6pm.
