A MAN who had put his car in for service and repair removed the car without paying the £1,500 bill. Blackburn magistrates heard Robert Grudzinskas had gone for a test drive with the garage owner but when they went in to sort out payment he said he had forgotten his wallet and left. The owner saw the car had gone and Grudzinskas was walking away from the garage. Grudzinskas, 28, Hereford Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to making off without payment. He was ordered to pay £1,544 compensation. Ian Huggan, defending, said his client didn't expect the bill to be as big as it was and didn't have the funds to pay. "Instead of explaining the situation and coming to some agreement he panicked and ultimately the vehicle was removed," said Mr Huggan. "He was hoping he would be able to borrow the money and discharge the debt but he was unable to do that."
