A MAN was stabbed in the head in Blackburn.

The victim, 25, was walking in Higher Audley Street near to the Gulf petrol station.

Two men shouted at him so he shouted back and then tried to run off.

Whilst getting away, he fell over and then the pair kicked and punched him, and he was stabbed in the head.

The incident happened between 2.20am and 2.30am on Monday March 26, but police have only just released details.

DC Kirsty Stoddard said: “The victim was left with some quite nasty injuries to his head after the assault.

“We have released some CCTV images in the hope that someone may recognise this pair, particularly by what they were wearing.
