AN investigation is underway after rubbish was 'deliberately' set on fire next to a house.

Firefighters were called to the incident in Cleaver Street in Burnley at around 2.45pm.

Two fire crews attended the scene and found rubbish next to a house had been set on fire and they used hose reels to extinguish it.

A fire service spokesman said: "We were called to a fire involving rubbish against the side of a house.

"The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

"We are investigating what has happened and will be working with police.

"Nobody was injured."
