A MAN who had stolen a sat nav from a car was turned away when he tried to sell it to Cash Converters after they recognised it as a 'dodgy deal.'
Blackburn magistrates heard things got worse for Brendan Duff when he was confronted by an "angry" man he assumed was the rightful owner and handed over the device.
Duff, 27, of Full View, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to theft from a motor vehicle.
He was made subject to a 28 day curfew between 7pm and 7am and ordered to pay £240 compensation.
Colleen Dickinson-Jones, defending, said Duff was approached as he left Cash Converters by a man he described as 'intimidating.'
She said: "He believed he was the owner of the sat nav and handed it over.
"As a result of that the equipment was not recovered."
