A PHOTOGRAPHY exhibition featuring fascinating characters and scenes from Blackburn over the years is running until May 5.
Blackburn: A Town and Its People – A Retrospective Exhibition by Christopher John Ball is on at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery.
Christopher first exhibited ‘Blackburn: A Town and its People’ in 1985.
A social commentary captured through photographs taken between 1979 and 1985, it was a personal interpretation of life in Blackburn and the impact of the political climate of the time.
Christopher, a Blackburn-born fine arts photographer, has gone back to the original negatives, and, through combining old and new technologies, has restored, revived and refreshed his original images and brought them back to Blackburn in this 2018 retrospective.
Focusing on images of the people of Blackburn, Chris revisits and reflects on life and culture within the town against a backdrop of economic and political change.
The museum is open Wednesday to Saturday 12 to 4.45pm.
