BLACKBURN Rovers stars took a break from training to spend the day meeting schoolchildren.
Danny Graham and Richie Smallwood met pupils from Avondale Primary School in Darwen recently as part of ‘Premier League Primary Stars’.
The Durham Road School has been taking part in the scheme since last September.
The partnership, between the school and Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, aims to engage, connect and inspire boys and girls aged four to 11 years old into regular sport and activity.
It seeks to promote fair play, motivation and ambition to reach goals and potential.
Matthew Clegg, a year five teacher at the school, said: “Danny and Richie spent some time with reception pupils in their PE lesson helping them in the gym and taking part in the lesson.
“They also went to the year five classrooms guided reading sessions. It was brilliant.”
