A GUINNESS World Record cyclist is calling for East Lancashire families to join a UK-wide challenge to get young people cycling to school.
Aiming to reduce congestion and boost children’s activity, the Big Pedal challenge, organised by walking and cycling charity Sustrans, will see families and teachers ditch the cars from April 23 to May 4.
Record holder for cycling around the world in 78 days, Mark Beaumont, believes cycling from an early age ‘boosts physical and mental health’.
Kids will be able to track their progress on a map, learning more about the whole host countries Mark visited.
