A BUSINESS owner wants to create a new industrial unit in a town.

Monks Contractors Ltd have submitted plans to Ribble Valley Council to construct a detached industrial unit to provide storage and repair of vehicles, plant and machinery on Myerscough Smithy Road, which is situated wet of the village of Mellor Brook.

The applicant wants to add more security to the existing site, which has suffered from a number of break ins which have resulted in both theft and vandalism.

If the proposal is accepted, the site will provide an improved working environment and secure internal storage.

It will be determined by councillors at a future planning and development meeting.
