THE funeral for a town crier from East Lancashire who travelled around the world will take place in America today.
Michael Redmond O’ Connell, who lived in Grindleton for more than 15 years, went on to travel around the world before moving to the United States in his early 20s.
The 66-year-old became known as ‘Redmond O’ Colonies’ in his adopted home of California.
Friends and family were invited to attend Redmond O’ Colonies’ private funeral in Martinez, California.
Attendees will be bringing a dish to share and people will be sharing stories of Michael.
Michael’s sister, Elizabeth Clemons, said: “Michael was handsome, witty, multi-talented and a kind man. He will be sadly missed.”
