VILLAGERS are waiting excitedly for the results of the North West in Bloom competition after putting the finishing touches to their efforts.
Residents of Stubbins were supplied with a three-tier planter by Rossendale Council, which has been given pride of place in the garden area on Bolton Road North.
Volunteers planted flowers bought with donations from Rossendale company B and E Boys and Stubbins residents.
B and E Boys also ensured the entrance to its Cuba Industrial Estate on Bolton Road North had its own planters.
Many other Stubbins shops and businesses made donations or put planters outside their premises, to make sure judges, who visited last Thursday, left impressed.
It will be October before residents get the results of the judging and see whether their hard work has won them any prizes.
