A CAR caught fire while travelling down a street.
The driver of a grey Ford Focus pulled over in Branch Road, Mellor Brook, at 6.25pm last night after another motorist told him a fire could be seen coming from under the bonnet.
Lee Garnett, Blackburn Fire Station's watch manager, said: "The owner pulled over and called 999.
"Firefighters were faced with the whole car well alight due to how quickly the fire spread inside.
"Firefighters using two hose reels and breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and made the scene safe.
"The whole car was severely damaged by the blaze."
No one suffered any serious injuries.
