THE official opening of the Gannow Community Centre will take place next month.
Lord Shuttleworth, the lord lieutenant of Lancashire and Bertie Bee, Burnley FC’s mascot, will open the refurbished centre.
Around £33,000 has been spent on the Adamson Street site which was taken on by the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council of Voluntary Service (BPRCVS) last year.
The centre was one of many that closed as part of £200million Lancashire County Council savings.
A BPRCVS spokesman said: “We’re inviting residents to come on down on the day and see the work we’ve undertaken.”
The event will take place on Wednesday, August 9, from 9am to noon.
