NEARLY 30 acts and at least 10 dance teams have been lined up for this year’s Todmorden Folk Festival.
Artists will descend on the Calderdale town from all corners of the UK, from Norfolk’s Mike Wilson and Damien Barber’s traditional fare to The Furrow Collective, hailing from the English and Scottish Borders, from April 28 to 30.
The performers will join battle of the bands winner Magdalen Bath, a local singer-songwriter, who will open the gathering alongside the trio Lady Maisery.
Music venues participating range from the town hall to various Todmorden pubs and churches, with dancing being hosted at Fielden Wharf, Market Place and Pollination Street.
Children’s entertainment will include two puppet theatre companies and clog dancing, maypole dancing and singing workshops.
Meanwhile Folklore Explore will take walkers around the town’s woods.
