TWO youths have been arrested in connection with an attack on a man who was set upon by a gang when walking home from work.
The 29-year-old victim was assaulted on the railway bridge Bawdlands, Clitheroe, just behind Kwik Save.
The victim was pushed in front of an oncoming car, which had to brake hard to avoid hitting the man, police said.
The car was driven by a woman who stopped and shouted at the attackers before driving off.
Detectives said the victim flagged down a passing motorist in a red car who drove him home following the incident which happened between 3pm and 3.30pm on Friday, June 22.
Officers on the inquiry have now arrested a 14-year-old boy from Nelson and a 15-year-old girl from Clitheroe.
And following questioning, both have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Anyone with information should contact Clitheroe police on 01200 458741.
